Copy of my FLF Epistemic Case Study Competition

Per LessWrong, Bruce Lewis submitted HowTruthful to the Epistemic Case Study Competition, which closes today. The tool rethinks how we map and evaluate arguments by replacing the traditional two-dimensional circle-and-arrow diagrams—used since at least nineteen fifty-eight—with a hypertext-based format. Instead of struggling with scaling problems when arguments grow complex, each statement gets its own page where you see the claim alongside its supporting and opposing evidence. Users navigate through pro and con branches and rate each claim's truthfulness on a five-point scale. Lewis also integrated large language models to help convert freeform text into the initial argument graph, but kept the AI user-controlled and inspectable rather than built into the platform—a deliberate choice to maintain trustworthiness.
