Nordone to launch bid for Graham's Senate seat

Senator Darline Graham Nordone announced on Monday that she's running for her late brother's Senate seat, according to Axios. Appointed to fill the vacancy just last week and with no prior public office experience, Nordone has secured an important endorsement: President Trump backed her candidacy ahead of the filing period. She spent nearly thirty years in South Carolina helping people with disabilities find employment. The Republican primary is August eleventh, with the winner advancing to face Democrat Annie Andrews in the November general election.
