Trump, Rubio don't plan to stop Tate brothers' extradition to the U.K.

politics

Axios reports that President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio do not plan to block the extradition of Andrew and Tristan Tate to the United Kingdom. The brothers, who built a large online following as self-styled masculinity influencers, were arrested by United States marshals in Miami on Saturday after British authorities filed thirty-eight new sex-crime charges, bringing their combined total to fifty-nine counts. A senior administration official told Axios the United States has an extradition treaty with Britain and the administration intends to honor it in this case. Court filings say Rubio has sole discretion to halt the transfer if he believes the brothers are being politically persecuted, and a State Department official said there are no plans to act at this time. An attorney for the Tates says the charges are politically motivated, that the brothers are innocent, and that they will fight extradition.
