Mamdani says he can’t arrest Netanyahu as mayor and urges US to enforce ICC warrant

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani says Benjamin Netanyahu is not welcome in the city. Though he acknowledged lacking the personal authority to arrest the Israeli Prime Minister, Mamdani is calling on federal authorities to enforce an International Criminal Court arrest warrant for Netanyahu should he visit in the fall. The Guardian reports Mamdani urged the federal government to join the ICC and execute both this warrant as well as any others the court may hold.
