China’s Shijian-31 satellite is sweeping GEO using a unique orbit

SpaceNews reports that China launched a classified satellite called Shijian-31 in June. The satellite is now operating in an unconventional orbit, providing a unique vantage point over the geostationary belt—the orbital zone where communications and weather satellites typically reside.
