U.S. deploys B-1 bomber as attacks on Iran intensify

The U.S. military has significantly escalated its campaign against Iran. According to Axios, the Pentagon used a B-1 long-range bomber on Tuesday to strike Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targets — the first B-1 mission since fighting with Iran resumed twelve days ago. The B-1 can carry the largest bomb load of any American bomber, and officials said this one launched from an airbase in the U.K. Axios reports President Trump is still weighing a return to major combat operations, which U.S. and Israeli officials say could come within days, even as Qatari mediators keep working to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and halt the fighting.
