Business rates to be cut by 20% for England pubs, clubs and music venues

The Guardian reports that England's pubs, clubs, and live music venues will see their business rates cut by twenty percent starting in April next year. The discount is expected to save a typical pub roughly eleven hundred pounds annually and will benefit approximately thirty-two thousand hospitality businesses, though the very largest live music venues are excluded. The relief follows a commitment by Andy Burnham to raise funds from e-commerce warehouses and redirect them toward supporting the hospitality sector.
