Marco Rubio says ‘new ideas’ needed to end war in Ukraine after meeting Russia’s Lavrov – Europe live

Per The Guardian, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that ending the Ukraine war will require new ideas on the table. After meeting on Thursday with Russia's foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, Rubio contended that existing proposals have not been acceptable to Ukraine. He acknowledged the toll the conflict has taken on both sides and said both should have incentive to bring it to an end. The United States is ready to help broker a settlement if conditions allow, Rubio added.
