US 'not willing to put pressure on Russia' despite wanting progress in Ukraine

Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday at the ASEAN Summit, their first meeting since September 2025. France 24 reports the talks come as the US has shifted its focus from Ukraine to the Middle East conflict. The broadcaster adds that Washington appears unwilling to pressure Moscow even as it says it wants progress in Ukraine.
