Two Russian men jailed in Angola for terrorism and spying

Two Russian nationals have been convicted of terrorism and spying by a court in Angola, The Guardian reports. Lev Lakshtanov and Igor Ratchin were accused of plotting a coup and helping to organize deadly fuel-price demonstrations in the southern African country last year. They were sentenced to eight and eleven years in prison respectively. Both men denied the charges, saying they had come to Angola for cultural and business activities.
