Former Barclays chief executive Jes Staley is set to be questioned by US lawmakers on Thursday over his past ties to Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender. The Guardian reports that the closed-door interview before the House oversight committee makes Staley the latest high-profile figure to testify as part of its investigation into Epstein, who died in prison in August twenty nineteen while awaiting trial on child sex-trafficking charges. Staley spent more than three decades at JPMorgan Chase before taking the helm at Barclays in twenty fifteen.
