Risk of Parkinson’s disease may increase with prolonged exposure to road traffic noise

Per a major new study reported by The Guardian, long-term exposure to road traffic noise is linked to increased risk of Parkinson's disease. Researchers found that for every eleven point five decibel increase in road traffic noise, the risk increases by three percent. Parkinson's is a progressive neurological disorder affecting movement and balance, and this finding adds to growing evidence that noise pollution carries real health consequences.
