Living Fully in the Math World Means Threading the Needle

Mathematician Hong Wang has won the 2026 Fields Medal, becoming the third woman ever to receive the award, Quanta Magazine reports. She and collaborator Joshua Zahl proved a long-standing mathematical conjecture in a 127-page proof that spans multiple branches of mathematics. The proof was presented in February twenty twenty-five.
