Orcas filmed smashing giant sunfish into thousands of pieces

Per ScienceDaily, researchers in the Gulf of California have documented orca behavior never before recorded—in two separate encounters, one orca gripped a dead sunfish by the fin while another charged into it at high speed, shattering the carcass into thousands of pieces. The incidents suggest orcas continue to develop novel hunting techniques.
