Al Jazeera Labs compared purchasing power across cities in an unusual way: by calculating how many hamburgers a typical worker's monthly salary can buy. In Cairo, that number comes to roughly twenty-two. In Tel Aviv, it's more than two hundred. The disparity illustrates how living costs vary dramatically around the world.
