The wife and daughter of a Bangladeshi politician have died after getting into difficulty in the waters off a beach in Essex, in the east of England. The Guardian reports that the pair were named by family members as Shalina Rahman, a forty-two-year-old British-Bangladeshi teacher, and her fifteen-year-old daughter, Sameeha. A seven-year-old family member was said to be on life support at a hospital in London. According to the paper, the incident happened during a holiday visit to West Mersea.
