Trump to impose fresh wave of tariffs on more than 80 countries
business
Per The Guardian, the Trump administration is imposing tariffs between ten and twelve point five percent on more than eighty countries. This replaces a ten percent global duty that was set to expire Friday morning. The affected nations include the United Kingdom, Mexico, Canada, Australia, India, China, and the twenty-seven members of the European Union. The administration cites concerns over forced labor as the rationale for these measures, which come after the U.S. Supreme Court previously invalidated many of the administration's earlier tariffs as illegal.
