Qantas tests new ultra long-range Airbus in 17,000km direct flight from France to Melbourne

Qantas has tested a new ultra-long-range aircraft, completing a nineteen-hour nonstop flight from Toulouse, France, to Melbourne. The aircraft was purpose-built for Project Sunrise, Qantas's initiative to establish direct flights between Australia and Europe. The Guardian reports the aircraft is designed to enable some of the world's longest commercial flights—a goal Qantas has pursued for years.
