What to know about Trump’s new tariffs on more than 80 countries

business

Per The Guardian, the Trump administration issued a fresh round of tariffs late Thursday affecting more than eighty countries, with levies ranging from ten to twelve point five percent taking effect Friday morning. This latest effort to impose global duties without congressional approval comes just as a temporary levy was expiring. It marks another escalation despite a Supreme Court ruling in February that found Trump had illegally used executive power for his previous tariff policies. The administration argues the U-S pays an unfair share in global tariffs and that higher duties are necessary to boost American manufacturing and jobs.
