Trump imposes fresh tariffs on more than 80 countries, drawing protests from US allies and trading partners

The Trump administration has imposed fresh tariffs ranging from ten to twelve and a half percent on more than eighty countries, The Guardian reports. The targeted countries include Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Australia, the European Union, India, and China. These duties replace a blanket ten percent tariff that Trump implemented after the US Supreme Court ruled many of his previous tariffs illegal. The action is already drawing protests from American allies and trading partners alike.
