Weather tracker: more than 900 wildfires rage across Canada

The Guardian reports that more than nine hundred wildfires are now burning across Canada, driven by a stretch of hot, dry weather. As of Wednesday, the blazes had scorched roughly three million hectares, with the most serious fires raging out of control in the Northwest Territories and Ontario. Smoke has fouled the air across affected regions and drifted as far as the United States and even northern Europe. With North America heading into the peak of fire season, officials warn the risk of further blazes remains high.
