Philippines accuses China of using water cannon on vessels for second day

Al Jazeera reports that the Philippine Coast Guard is accusing China of using water cannons against Philippine vessels for a second consecutive day. The incident involved twelve China Coast Guard vessels and three Chinese maritime militia vessels at Scarborough Shoal in the disputed South China Sea. The shoal has long been a flashpoint in the maritime standoff between the two countries.
