Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has built his political brand on fighting voter fraud—but now he's facing allegations he committed it himself, per ProPublica and The Texas Tribune. The news organizations reported that Paxton voted from a home address he no longer occupied in six elections, including the March Republican primary, even after moving out in twenty twenty-four. Three election experts told the outlets he may have violated state law; voters are permitted to cast ballots from a non-resident address only if they intend to return, a claim election lawyers say is unlikely given his ongoing, public divorce. His Democratic opponent in the Senate race, state Rep. James Talarico, is now seizing on the apparent hypocrisy. When asked about the voting address, Paxton declined to answer, and the Texas Secretary of State's office has confirmed it's reviewing a complaint filed against him.
