Iran’s much improved missile systems pose a real threat to the US

The Guardian reports that Iran's missile systems have grown markedly more accurate and lethal, exposing gaps in American air defenses across the Gulf. As the Middle East crisis escalates, Tehran has been striking US bases and critical infrastructure with growing precision, aided by Chinese satellite imagery and tactics learned from Russia in Ukraine. Last Friday, three American soldiers were killed in an attack on the Muwaffaq Salti airbase in Jordan, which was being protected by a US Thaad missile defense system. According to the paper, satellite imagery later released by Iranian media showed several buildings completely destroyed.
