Trump switched planes in Turkey earlier this month because of threat from Iran proxy forces – report

The New York Times reports that President Trump switched aircraft in Turkey earlier this month after U.S. officials detected a credible threat from Iranian proxy forces targeting him and Air Force One. Trump had arrived in Ankara for the NATO summit aboard a newly donated Qatari Boeing 747-8, but the jet lacks the advanced defensive systems found on the standard Air Force One. He flew home on the older, fortified aircraft instead.
