In separate coverage, the Guardian says Omar and fellow Democrat Pramila Jayapal planned a congressional oversight visit to a federal building in Minneapolis. That site saw sustained protests earlier this year against an immigration crackdown across Minnesota, which the outlet says resulted in the fatal shootings of two US citizens by federal immigration agents.
