More than 250,000 people flee wildfires in France and Spain

More than two hundred fifty thousand people have fled wildfires burning across Spain and France, The Guardian reports, as firefighters struggle to contain the blazes. Around seventy thousand were evacuated from central Spain, while one hundred ninety-seven thousand fled in France, including tens of thousands from the wine region city of Bordeaux. Strong winds are driving the fires toward Bordeaux, and smoke has prompted health warnings in Madrid.
