Ever Seen Claude Use Fusion 360?

Hackaday reports on a digital clock project that became an experiment in AI-assisted design. Lee Hutchinson set up the timekeeping and display logic using systemd and Python—with some help from Claude Code—but faced the usual friction of working in Autodesk Fusion 360 to design the case. Rather than push through Fusion's UI, he tried something novel: connecting Claude to Fusion's new MCP server, allowing the model to design the case directly. A local Qwen model got partway there but stumbled; Claude refined it into a working design in the next iteration.
