Pentagon reports more than 600 Iran war casualties in quiet database update

politics

The Pentagon quietly updated its official casualty database over the weekend, adding more than one hundred forty wounded service members. According to the Defense Casualty Analysis System, the toll from the earlier phase of the US-Iran war, known as Operation Epic Fury, now stands at fourteen killed and more than four hundred wounded in action. The update also introduces a new category, labeled Overseas Operations, covering personnel killed and wounded starting July seventh. The Guardian reports the figures are disputed, coming just days after the Defense Department had reduced its record of troops killed and wounded.
