Special DemosAU poll has Labor well short of a parliamentary majority

According to new analysis from The Conversation, Australian polling suggests the governing Labor party would lose its parliamentary majority if an election were held now. A DemosAU survey of more than nine thousand voters found Labor winning just sixty-eight of the one hundred fifty House of Representatives seats, falling eight short of the seventy-six seats needed for a majority. One Nation surges to sixty seats in the same poll, and when combined with the Coalition's thirteen seats, the opposition would have a seventy-three to sixty-eight advantage—potentially positioning One Nation to form government.
