Merging COE Categories A and B among ideas raised in LTA's transport plan consultations

Channel NewsAsia reports that Singapore's Land Transport Authority is exploring changes to the Certificate of Entitlement, or COE, system that manages vehicle registration. Among ideas under consideration: merging categories A and B, or switching to a value-based surcharge scheme where owners of higher-priced cars would pay more than buyers of mass-market vehicles. These proposals are part of the LTA's ongoing transport-planning consultations.
