Australia activated its national emergency alert system for a test on Sunday afternoon. The Guardian reports that nearly every phone, smartwatch, and tablet across the country was supposed to emit a loud alert around two p.m. local time with a test message. The system mostly worked, but some devices never received the notification. The federal government is still declaring it a success, noting that no emergency system achieves one hundred percent delivery.
