Developer Simon Willison has created a new tool that converts Mozilla's browser compatibility data into a searchable SQLite database. Inspired by Mozilla's recent Model Context Protocol service, Willison used Claude Code with Opus four point eight to generate a Python script that packages the comprehensive browser-compat-data repository into a sixty-six megabyte database. The database is hosted on GitHub with open CORS headers, making it accessible to browser-based tools like Datasette Lite. This gives web developers a queryable format instead of hunting through documentation for compatibility information.
