Suspect in Berlin Pride attack shot dead by police

German police say a twenty-one-year-old man with a record of Islamist extremist activity was shot dead on Sunday, a day after he allegedly rammed a minivan into people near Berlin's Pride celebrations, killing one person. France 24 reports the attack struck the Tiergarten park near the Brandenburg Gate, not far from Christopher Street Day, one of Europe's largest annual LGBTQ celebrations. Germany's interior minister has classified the ramming as an Islamist terror attack, with more than a dozen others also injured.
