world
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree expanding Russia's authorized military to two point four million personnel. Active service members have risen to one million, five hundred thirty-five thousand—up from one million, five hundred ten thousand. Per Meduza, the decree takes effect August first and reflects a shift to creating military construction units. This marks the sixth expansion Putin has ordered since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, with three increases announced in just the past six months.
