France and Spain race to contain huge wildfires before fresh heatwave begins

Firefighters in France and Spain are racing against the clock to contain massive wildfires before a fresh heatwave arrives later this week. Spain's interior minister, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, called Monday and Tuesday "absolutely crucial days" to get the blazes under control, with The Guardian reporting that temperatures are expected to climb again from Wednesday onward, threatening to undo containment efforts.
