New York school district halts plan to use humanoid robot amid backlash

A New York school district has put its humanoid robot pilot on hold. The Guardian reports that Salamanca City Central announced Thursday it's pausing its partnership with Toronto-based tech company Realbotix while it addresses student data privacy concerns with the state education department. The decision came after educators and community members voiced objections to the proposal. The district says it will continue working with stakeholders on the project.
