Reviving a Retro Mouse with BlueTooth low Energy support

Hackaday reports that a maker known as E-S-P-E-E seventy-seven has retrofitted a classic Genius GM-6000 mouse with Bluetooth Low Energy—all while preserving the original's distinctive feel. The project swapped in a custom PCB with an N-R-F fifty-two eight forty microcontroller and new optical sensors that read the existing quadrature encoders. The result: a wireless mouse that now supports scrolling through middle-button movement and even features an 'air mouse' mode using an inertial measurement unit for presentations—proof that retro hardware can beautifully blend with modern conveniences.
