iOS and macOS 26.6 arrive today, paving the way for iOS and macOS 27

Apple released its twenty-six point six operating systems on Monday—iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. Ars Technica reports these are primarily maintenance releases, featuring over one hundred fifty security patches for Mac and assorted bug fixes. Most notably, iOS and iPadOS are optimizing their Spotlight search index to prepare for a more capable search feature in iOS twenty-seven, expected to arrive in September. Older Macs aren't forgotten—Apple also pushed security updates for macOS fourteen point eight point eight and fifteen point seven point eight.
