Researchers in Canada examined people living in areas officially considered to have clean air. Yet the imaging revealed early signs of coronary artery disease in these individuals. The finding suggests that legally-safe pollution levels may not actually protect long-term cardiovascular health, and could prompt governments to reconsider how they set air quality standards.
