Per Boing Boing, an English professor at South Florida State College is suing her former employer after being fired for assigning a short story to her freshman class. Vinita Prabhakar had selected Ottessa Moshfegh's 'Bettering Myself,' winner of the Plimpton Prize and published in The Paris Review, to teach about unreliable narrators. Prabhakar's suit claims the college violated her First Amendment rights.
