Drug company backdown sees lifesaving cancer treatment offered for free

AstraZeneca is backing down, agreeing to give away its cancer drug Zoladex 3.6mg for free rather than list it on Australia's Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, ABC News reports. The reversal comes after breast cancer patients said they were considering having their ovaries removed as an alternative to the treatment. Zoladex is also used to treat endometriosis.
