Senate goes on record to oppose any possible pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell
politics
The Senate unanimously passed a resolution Wednesday saying Ghislaine Maxwell, convicted of aiding Jeffrey Epstein's abuse of underage girls, should never be pardoned. Axios reports Democrats pushed the measure to force Republicans on record, and none objected. The resolution is symbolic and non-binding, and President Trump has stopped short of ruling out clemency, saying he'd need to consult the Justice Department. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, who personally interviewed Maxwell last year, has told senators he wouldn't recommend a pardon.
