Per the Federal Register, the FAA is issuing a new airworthiness directive for Pilatus PC-12/47E airplanes after an engine-start incident. Battery voltage dropped during the startup sequence, causing the plane's avionic systems to shut down. To prevent this, operators must now incorporate an enhanced startup procedure into their pilot's handbook — a temporary revision that the FAA says addresses the unsafe condition.
