Infrared workout studios are everywhere these days, promising to boost circulation, speed recovery, and help the body detoxify—but per The Conversation, the evidence for most of those claims is surprisingly thin. A review of hot-yoga research found no clear evidence that exercising in heat provides greater health benefits than ordinary-temperature workouts. While heat can temporarily reduce soreness and make movement feel easier, studies haven't shown that infrared panels specifically improve cardiovascular health, flexibility, or inflammation. The bottom line: infrared workouts may feel more comfortable, but they don't appear to transform your results—and they do carry real safety risks, from dehydration to heat illness, especially for people with heart conditions.
