UK on track for record heat-related deaths this year, UKHSA estimates

The UK is on pace for a record year of heat-related deaths, according to the UK Health Security Agency. The agency's preliminary estimate puts heat-related deaths during May and June at two thousand eight hundred seventy-seven, nearly double last year's total for the same period. UKHSA tracks these figures each year to gauge the toll of extreme heat on public health.
