Nearly three thousand people are estimated to have died from heat during this summer's heatwaves, according to the UK Health Security Agency. The agency's preliminary data suggests twenty twenty-six could mark the highest number of heat-associated deaths on record, following weeks of high temperatures, BBC News reports.
