Trump’s tax immunity scheme hoists president by his own petard on Blanche AG nomination
politics
President Trump is refusing to officially limit a controversial tax immunity agreement that includes a slush fund worth one point eight billion dollars, per The Guardian. Two Republican senators sought written limits on the deal, hoping the concession might help Todd Blanche, Trump's acting attorney general, win permanent confirmation. Blanche, a Trump loyalist and Trump's former personal lawyer, has said the slush fund portion was dead, but Trump's refusal to put limits on the agreement in writing is creating risk for his own AG's confirmation.
