Telegram is facing court action in Australia over allegations it failed to detect and remove pro-terror material from its platform, The Guardian reports. Australia's eSafety commissioner, Julie Inman Grant, called the case very significant in comments to the ABC. Platforms may do some content moderation, Inman Grant said, but not to the degree Australian law requires. If the court rules against Telegram and the company doesn't comply, she warned, contempt charges could follow.
