At least eighteen people have died trying to reach the Spanish enclave of Ceuta after roughly forty-nine thousand migrants breached the border from Morocco, according to The Guardian, with officials citing drownings and crush injuries among the dead. Spain sent military and police reinforcements to Ceuta on Thursday as thousands now sleep on the streets and in parks. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez is expected to join Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska on a visit to Ceuta on Friday morning.
